Here you go mate, this is whats on your doorstep in Thurso! Hoping for a wave in Kent this weekend, forecast says there will be 5-6ft (I'll believe it when I see it but I'll be at the beach first light to avoid the crowds)

Yeah apparently there is some huge competition up here just now. There are tons of surfers staying in my GFs work.

I will go down sometime this weekend to see what the fuss is about.

I remember watching the european championships in Thurso a long time ago. It really is a sweet wave but the water always looks brown and it's too bloody cold for my liking.

I'm off to Bali in September for a nice warm surf!

You lucky b*gger, i want to go back to Bali. Some amazing waves. Make sure you can surf left-handers though!

I'm goofy footed so will be no probs.

Need to buy a board though, I broke my last one in Fiji...

Oh well at least you'll be more likely to be able to handle the waves after being in Fiji. I'd been in N.Ireland and hadn't seen the sea for 6 mths! and was aweful going left. Got some great waves though, after a month of being scaped over the reefs, then had to go home, boooo!

I've got fingers crossed tomorrow morning. Going to get up there first light if I can crawl out of bed. Forecast is 6ft at 6secs period, so by the time it hits the beach it'll probably be 2 or 3 ft, slow and lumpy! Oh and the winds are on-shore!! Still its better than the bathtub. Take out the mini-mal in my Zed surf mobile.
