does anyone know why my antena stays up while its playing cds does everyones do this or is there summat wrong with my wiring help plz!!!!!!

Mine stays up as long as my header unit is switched on. Radio or CD

Mine stays up also. It didn't when the original stereo was in but does now that I have replaced it. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, never bothered me.

I thought that when the cd/radio was on the antena was up, end of story/no choice.

So if there is a solution I'd like to know too.

thought id get this response!!! yeah just taken out my original aswell and it didnt stay up then, now ive put mi new one in its up all the time.Bloody hell guess ill have to live with it!! cheers for the replys guys!!!!

I guess you could put a switch into the antena control wire, but it's a bit of a crappy solution.

If you have the traffic news on your RDS radio switched on then the ariel will stay up, on my old sony head unit when TA is switched off the ariel is down when playing discs.

there is an easy way to sort it ,, put a switch on the blue wire that comes from head unit , then when you want to the ariel to come up switch the radio on , ,, tbh honest the nissan boys left the ariel to stay on all the time , as how many times you think you would switch between radio and cd , it will have ariel going up and down all day long , and shorten its life expectency , the switch if your desperate but i dont notice mine anymore

Mine only stays up if I have TA (traffic announcements) turned on.

mine only comes up when you switch the head unit onto radio :) You/someone has used the wrong output from the stereo for the ariel

 

.if its always up, you have used the 5v pre output, (for amps) normally one but can have 2-3 nowadays

comes on when TA on then again wrong wire, as TA mode gives an anditonal output on the stereo for booster signal boxes.

 

OH and its not always the same colour on every stereo to make life fun!!!

use a multimeter to find it, if anyone close/meets ill be happy to sort it.
