right well might as well let u all know, yesterday was not a good day. as im sure most of u know i was due to return from iraq in 2 days andpay for and finaly pick up jonnos zed on monday however; it failed MOT quite badly, both steering racks and other bits, possibly as much as 2k to fix which neither of us can afford to get sorted straight away so ive decided not to buy, (despite jumping the gun and buying lots of red bits and insurance! and putting it in my sig! :headvswal arghh!)

however i would like to say thanks to jonno for being totaly cool and paying me my money back no questions, none of this is his fault and hes been great. and believe he plans to get it roadworthy again be back into the zed world.

but dont worry im not giving up that easily, (and im buggered if im missing jap fest!) possibly got another zed sorted all though im not cursing myself this time and im not saying a thing until its actually mine and working ok! so watch this space! will be putting a few bits in for sale section at some point. fingers crossed this all works out for the best, j

The Mot stations quote will be far from realistic.

Rare for Rear Hicas steering rack to have internal wear, usually common arm bushing wear.

Either way both front and rear steering racks can be picked up for anything from £50-£75 each second hand in good condition...for example.

Unlucky mate. Good on Jonno for being good about it to. I reckon you are looking at the right type of car any how. Already re-built and modded is the way to go. Let someone else spend the money!!

im sure your right but to be honest i really need the car for as soon as i get back, and cant be doing with any hassle of working on it this month as ive just got back from iraq so rather stupidly i didnt budget for any big problems in the first month. but again as everyone said well done to jonno its nice to have examples of good people on this forum when it comes to selling and buying instead of the few who rip people off and spoil it. j

Hats off to the pair of you.
