Can anyone tell me what the consequences are of having the speedo reading too slow apart from the obvious observational distortion i.e. the driver thinks he is going slower than he is !!

I take it that the ABS will not be affected if all wheels are oversized by the same amount ??

Speedos tend to over rather than underead (MOT requirement I think), but no, should not affect ABS, nor Traction Control, if all are the same.

Thanks guys ....it was a serious question ..I mean maybe theres something going on that I dont know about..one thing Ive learnt from this club is that there are more things to consider and think about than I will ever know

Hellraiser - chuckle chuckle...are you suggesting (humorously) that I might get more tickets because my speedo is reading 2 % out ?? Only I get my tickets from the fact that I am a total speed junky and I dont think that a small error on my speedo will have any affect on that..although I could try it as a point of defence :o)

One thing comes to mind here... if the wheels are bigger by about 10mm dia then speedo will read slow which should counter the manufacturers tendency to make them read fast - Thanks for reassurance on ABS & TRC - Cheers Andy
