GUys, my scuttle panel is showing her age and was just wondering if there is a way to repaint it. I know some guys sell replacements but im in the raf and thinking our body shop on station could manage the scuttle panel. What sort of colour / undercoating / prep would be required?

Cheers guys

Mine where not to bad just colour fading, but if you have pits you can just spray over with preferably a dark coloured blocker spray which will fill the pits and make it smooth then spray over a couple of coats with flat black. IMO as for getting in the grooves the spray worked very well just raise the scuttle slightly when spraying and keep flat do'nt hang it to spray.

sounds good, guess i just need to decide what colour to re-spray it in now. My cars met black so was thinking about sticking with a gun metal type grey i guess but if anyone has pics etc id be interested to see what others look like.

Cheers andy

Mine is also a mettalic black and mine is flat black as I thought a gloss would be to OTT IMHO. But gun metal grey sounds pretty cool.

The gloss is good as it looks like metal rather than plastic when done. ...I would put pics up but it is chucking it down outside...

Trust me...the gloss looks 100000% better than the original...

ok, will try and do some later if poss...
