I will be at crail on Sunday and I am going to give the car a go on the 1/4 for my first time. I have a couple of questions:

1. With the car being an auto, which is the best way to start off the line

2. Is there anything I can do to help the car go down the track, ie by driving. No losing weight jokes etc please  .

TIA,

Dave G

obviously the spare wheel can fook right off, if your really serious u could go to the hassle of taking out the passenger and rear seats, parcel shelf all the usual crap. and take a large dump before u go!

1, Power mode on, O/D off, rev to 3000ish RPM when in D, with your left foot pressing down on the brakes to hold the car. Obviously when the green lights turn depress throttle and lift brake :D

2, Spare wheel, all crap out of boot and yourself LOL. If its your 1st time, dont be embarrasd with poor reaction time, its just for fun, always remember that!!

Good luck fella :)

Cheers Rich,

Not too fussed about weight saving, took the spare wheel out today but put in my boot install. Just wanting to know how quick the car is really. Probably just go down 3 or 4 times in the morning to get a time. What should I expect.

I also pretty much ran it dry then put in a fiver of optimax with a bit of additive.

i was thinking about getting an old saab 2.3 turbo for a couple of hundred, stripping it and using it as a santa pod car. They do 90 in 2nd and have loads of torque. With the heavy saab seats etc gone, should be pretty quick?

Dave,

If you aim for a high 13/low 14 you shouldnt be dissapointed, the weather plays a bit part in the 1/4 aswell!!

Oh, and take a mini compressor, so you can pump your tyres back up after youve dropped them to about 18psi! :D

Chunk,

I struggle to wheel spin now after putting the new tyres on. Should I still deflate them or leave inflation at its 32 psi??

Thanks

Hey Dave,

I personally drop mine to 18/22psi, Just make sure that you have a footpump/mini compressor to pump them back up for the drive home :)
