I never realised how BIG they are. I don't know if the 300 will fit down my street.

But I brought it anyway! A Silver NA Manual 2+2

Woohoo. I'll probably crash it on the way home (got to drive it out of b-ham city centre).

The one I got had 2 big bore exhausts on it and I swear I turned on the engine it sounded like some Chevy V8 or something. Just what I need to get revenge on the boy racers revving their corsas by my house.

Thanks for the help guys and at last I'm a 'proper' 300zx forum guy.

Al

ps (unfortunately I got to wait 10 days for it as its an unregistered import and needs stuff doing including security).

No Yampie but there are speed bumps on my journey to school in the morning. The type that are like lumps in the middle of the road that come two or three at a time. Not the straight across type.

Hey have you had dealings with premier cars too then?

wanna be careful with those mate, quite likely you will ground a zed going over them.

that blue ones been on ebay for fooking months!! be interested to see if thats a genuine proved 400 horseys, doubt it but u never know. dont think id be happy with 17psi if there standard tubs. but who knows?

That's what I was thinking. Plus, why would he want a GTST Skyline, when he has a '400 hp' zed? Surely he would go for a GTR? Like you say, wouldn't want 400 horses on standard tubs!

400 is do-able on stock tubs but 17psi is stupid, 15 tops on stock tubs imo.

:confused:Im sure it does'nt need to be registered for test drive, is that what that told you? They use Trade plates. I've driven plenty of fresh unregistered imports from Traders before!

Thats quite a risk, buying without driving. Potentially so many problems, fingers crossed!

You wont have any problems parking, you just need to get used to it :) They are wider than typical saloon, but not as long (or high ofcourse).

 I smell a rat.......... :nono: hope it is ok. don't buy a car you hvae not driven..... :nono:

As I've said many times on this forum before..........

Don't buy from Birmingham dealers........

Nottingham Dealers........

Leeds dealers.........

Leeds and Notttingham dealers are connected and Birmingham dealers have changed names so many times, that's how they can keep selling ropey cars.......

It's up to you if you buy, but don't say YOU have not been warned!!! :(

Matty.

Is it because of the way they spoke to you or treated you?

Gut feelings and some of the cars were dogs and what they offered to do for me, ie change gearbox and knock money off.

Mr Red what were they like to deal with? Did they seem really friendly and trying their best to please (sneaky ninja style) or were they pushy and not very nice (not so sneaky ninja style)?

my mate bought a GTO from them and within weeks the head gasket went, they kept saying the guy who deals with this type of thing was out and he'll call back, he never did.....

so we went down to see them and they would not admit liability at first til we threatened to take them to court.

they then said that they would have the car back and fix it at their place which we refused as the mechanic was a snotty nosed 17 year old who was there to "tidy" the cars up before sale, eventually they agreed that if he got it repaired then they would refund the money, guess what - THEY DIDN'T !!!

its in the hands of the small claims court now..... they were friendly at first, looked like they would move heaven and earth to please you, but they LIED.......

cheers

Andy...

I run 15psi on standard tubs no problem, it says on the auction that it has an apex boost controller so just turn it down!

I thought this thread had been deleted but I found it again! Well I'll give it a thorough test and check before I buy it. Visibly the car looked good though, the guy said it was a 3.5 grade which I read is above average, but then since thats based on visual appearance I could see that anyway. He also told me that no one else had come to look at it which is strange since surely he'd want me to think that if I want it I should get in there quick as others have expressed interest.

Parking is a dodle. Cos of the rear wheel stearing I keep having to get a taxi to the kerb. Havent got used to it yet. Always thinking I will never get in there. Next thing I know there is a cab waiting.

Hope it is all OK. I bought mine off e-bay untested a few weeks ago. It is still going fine. Did have to have new tyres though cos of the lowering and camber problems.

Hope you get to enjoy it.

Right well I thought I should update this thread now I've had the car 2 weeks.

Absolutely love the car, drives like a dream (except for that slidey slide, what the!) and is in great condition. Usual exterior rubber trim peel and silvering back wiper but apart from that its great. the warranty also looked fine and today I even got something in the post that validated the varranty which is good.

I think the only real dodgy bits about the dealers are that they didn't put a proper connecter in the radio when they put the cd head unit in. they just twisted the wires together so I had to get a connector for 50p from maplins.

Anyways thanks again for all the advice guys.

Yeah I do love looking at it. I've read a few comments on the forum comparing the jap super cars (rx 7, gto, supra) and remember one saying the zed looks older than the supra. But everyone who sees the zed who has never seen one before all comment on how you'd never think it was an old car. And for some reason, although supras are great cars and I'd have one, when I see one the same thought pops into my head... Canoe.
