April 21, 200619 yr Does anybody know if there is room under the bonnett to fit water to air intercoolers?
April 21, 200619 yr think they are called charge coolers one of the main problems with a chargecooler is the heat soak when stopped and considering how much heat these things put out i would go for a FMIC

It's called a charge cooler... The Lotus Carlton had them... It's works by spraying a fine amount of water into the Hot Charged air making it denser so when it enters the engine you have nice cold damp air which your Turbo's will love... To be honest though just go for bigger side mounts as they will cool the charged air plenty enough and the cost will be a hell of a lot cheaper than installing a charge cooler... :p
April 21, 200619 yr Thats water injection mate first made popular by the merlin engine in the spitfire and now avail to everyone by aquamist. Chargecoolers are a intercooler sat in a tank of water that has its own radiator to keep the water cool and a high pressure pump ,so its quite complicated. As i said the water absorbs a lot of heat when the car is stationary. think the celica gt4's used to have them
