Hi Guys

when I boot it in my car it throbs, kind of sounds like those thai fighter things out of star wars (why do I know that!?)

Is this normal or is there somethng funny going on with her?

Also what does it mean if she is idling at about 1,200 rpm when shes warm?

Gotta love the questions hey!

Thanks :)

The feet.

Try turning the aircon OFF and see what happens to your idle.

Hi Its the TT (the only way to go :) )

turning the air con off does not seem to make any difference... hmmm....

throbbing may be a failed center bearing and the high tickover is probaly related to the air regulator and the ficd valve.youll find them on the rear of the plenum on the passenger side.always good to check the plugs are making a good connection.if your revs dont alter when you apply a load to the engine like the aircon then the ficd valve isnt getting a signal.once the electrics are established as good and your revs are still high then you may have to strip the regulator and decarbonise it.

throbbing may be the idle hunting - is it accompanied by a very high pitched ticking sound ??

I thought my idle was high at 950 when warm but 1200 is definitely too high.

Well it won't cut out at the lights like my one did last year it seems ok now & is at about 750.
