Hi.

Just got the zed back after getting new TT engine and autobox in.

Driving home te other night from work I decided to stick my foot down a little, car went like stink, good but when I got back home to check the levels I noticed that the engine oil dip stick had come out of the dip stick pipe by about half an inch and the same thing happened to the autobox stick, could this be because they are over filled.

Also I now have a huge water leak and over the course of the week as it was parked in the garage I notice nearly all of the water had drained out. Checked to see where the water was leaking and it seems to be coming from the back of the engine in the middle. Now I checked all of the heater feed and return pipes visible and all seemed fine. Is there a water pipe lower down and in the middle of the engine bay?

Any help appreciated.

Soinds to me like the turbo water feed pipe.

I could be wrong though

Come on any more ideas???

did you get the work done by a garage??

if so take it back they should sort it out not you matey

regards

Thanks.

Problem is I got it done in Manchester and I live in Newcastle.

Wouldnt want to drive back down with water leak and itll cost a load to get it transported back for a 3rd time!!!

it is more than likely the turbo pipes, when my matrix went i sorted it, then a few days later the turbo feed pipe on the drivers side went, that looked like it was coming from the back of the engine due to its location, so i put a new pipe on, sorted it out.

its a bit of a bugger to get to and its a weird shape but buy a replacemnt length of pipe and it will cure it if your feeling fruity do the other side too. another tip is dont use jubilee clamps to tighten them up, i used fule line clamps as they have a small bolt/nut and tighten much better withought slipping out of the teeth like jubilees do if you over tighten them.

Cheers for the advice.

I have now found out it is somthing to do with an engine seal/plug which stops the water pouring out, problem is it had rotted away. Cheap part but loadsa money for labour. OH well.
