Coolant Question

I am not too familar with the car and am still learning about it.

At the front of the car there is a tube in which you are meant to put in the coolant. Does this mean that I do not have to put coolant into the radiator with the water?

What type of coolant/anti-freeze is the best?

Featured Replies

Pali dont put the coolant in there that is the expansion tank, you need to put the coolant in the rad filler cap.

He means the dipstick on the expansion tank Iain. Make sure yer radiator is full by taking the rad cap(metal) off Pali. Also add some coolant or battery water from Halfords to the expansion tank but don't overfill. wink.gif

Take it from someone who's had more trouble with his cooling system than the Space Shuttle ... no more than 600ml of coolant in the expansion tank. If the rad is filled properly (i.e., drained of air) then you shouldn't have any problems.
