There was a tread on here the other day about Shell Garages and where was the nearest. I can't find the tread, but may question was... why do you want to use Optimax?

Its higher Octane so better performance, basically.

higher octane rating, imports are mapped for higher octane fuel as std so best to use that from the off

NAs are fine on regular unleaded but do better MPG on super / Optimax.

I paid 101.9p this morning for BP ultra stuff, didn't realise the price until I was half full so I thought wtf

Don't they actually have several maps and the ECU just picks the best one for the fuel you have?

 

ie. you won't get the best performance but it shouldn't really matter.

I get 30 miles to a tenner on 95 Ron on my Import TT-and over 40-50 on Optimax to a tenner!

So go for Optimax all the time bud,or at least 97 Ron!
