Having bought a smithy hose sets, I was planning to replace as many as possible of the vacuum hoses this weekend, and made a good start, but a few are routed into the wings (by the battery and next to the bukhead in the right-hand side), do these connect to valves etc hidden in the wings?

Featured Replies

probably go to the aiv valves in each wing towards the bulkhead. they are for pumping fresh air into the exhaust on idle.

Cheers! So a wing off job to change. I'll get a couple of joiners and replace what I can for now, as it sounds like the bumper has to come off to take the wings off, I don’t have a garage and this stupid weather cant make its mind up.

Are these valves the reason for the exhaust blowing sound at idle that goes away when you touch the throttle?

Thanks Cheers!

not a wing off job . take wheel off and remove the liner towards the bulkhead . you can access the aivs from there.

Cheers!
