So, is there any software out there or can i somehow get in to the bios to disable the ******* before it goes through the window?

Help would be greatly appreciated, prefereably before i get tinitus.

go into bios and up the high alarm temp, failing that stick some fans in it.

i would if i new how to get in the bios.. isnt something like control and f7..

nope hit delete when computer is booting up

It's usually DEL or F11 when it's booting.

Are you sure your CPU fan hasn't died ?

I use MotherBoardMonitor to check that the fans are still spinning etc.

Also, there are a few bits of s/w that vary the fan speed according to the temp - keeps the noise down.

DEl F10, F11, F1, Ctrl Alt & S really depends on motherboard make. Once you have got into the bios you shoudl be able to see if the fan is spinning anyway, and also most modern boards give a temperature of the CPU.

just take the cover off and boot it up, then you'll see if the fan is working. There's no need to put all the screws back in. My cover just sits on top as I'm always changing harddrives.

sorted, disables the fekker in bio, fan is running, the fact thats itsn ear the radiator doesnt help, feck it i wish it would melt, 800mhz bag of bolts.

Mine started doing that, but looks like it was the cpu. So had to buy a new AMD dual core processor and motherboard and while I was at it, a new 19" Sony LCD monitor :)
