Airborne 300

You may find this amusing as I normally drive my zed with absolute care and respect and don't like to punish it through aggressive driving but...

..and yes, I know some of you have probably done this when you 17 or something or some might say 'so what?', but it was a sh*t load of fun and I survived to tell it!?!.

I took a friend of mine out yesterday afternoon (sunday) for a spin around the proverbial 'block' trying to convert him from BMW to a zed.

Anyway, on the way back we approached this hump back bridge at a rather 'rapid' pace, thinking 'better slow down a bit', got to the apex of the bridge and yep, she took off.

F*cking hell!!, sailed through the air for about two counts then 'bang!', suspension took a battering but she 'recovered' very well. My friend at this time was a very pale shade of white I must say.

Just to impress him again I took a left turn at the next junction and laid down the power and performed a tyre smoking power slide for about 40-50 yards (yep, it was at 45 degrees going down the road!).

Got back and my friend said to his wife 'Oh I've gotta have me one of these...!', so hopefully, the moral here is 'hopefully another one converted to the zed side'.

Oh please by the way don't try this at home....

Cheers

I flew once in a car. Taking the Sierra estate to to sisters in aberwyrswth ( you know where I mean ) Doing 60 odd down the country lanes, cos I can. Loads of long sweaping conrners which are great fun. I go around one an half way round it is a rail crossing where the tracks come across the road. I think it was an old mine one cos there was no signals or sign post for it. Unfortunalty the tracks where higher than the road and the road bulged up to them.

Ahh it dont look that steep me thinks.

I hit the bulge, remember this is on a corner. Straight after I hit the bulge, I was not turning but was going straight ahead and the revs shot up. Oooo Fook! There was a loud screach and the whole car shook vioently turned again. I was on the other side of the road.

Hmmm Nice Air. It was fun, but a big fooker of a truck could have been coming the other way.

I remember when I had my z31 turbo, there is this small bridge over a railway line in my area, I used to hit it at 70, and the car took off about 3 feet in the air what a buzz!! thank god I had koni adjustables and springs on the thing. We could create a new olympic sport "Car Aerials" and score it like the snowboarders for height and style!

rofl..

You guys are nuts!, I know this is drifting from the subject of air under the wheels but one of the other funny things that happened to myself was on a quiet road near Orlando. We where taking some backroads in our 'rental car' to get to our destination where I noticed that on every corner or turn there was a sign with a number on it. anyway, we carried on doing about 50-60mph, not particularly fast but not hanging around when all of a sudden the road disappeared in front of us. There was some very strong language followed by about 2 or 3 doughnut turns into a gravel area off the road. we come to a stop completely surrounded by dust and stuff in the air and after a short while realised the road done a hairpin turn and the sign next to it said 15mph! (being the max. speed you could take the corner at), basically a first or second gear turn!. we crossed the other side of the road and could of been 'T-boned' very easily!.
