Can anyone help , as i am new to the zed, and its seems that on cold starting in the mornings the choke system does not want to work  , causing me to try and keep the engine turning with the gas pedal.

Any ideas anyone , and in basic terms and where to find the part etc

thanks

Anyone ?

EFI engines dont have a 'choke' as such. it could be heaps of things. none are easily described without going into too much detail. An ECU diagnosis would almost ceratainly point to the problem. try a forum search.

water temp sensor, i think thats the only thing which makes it run 'on choke'.

thanks, i will try another temp sensor tomorrow and let you know, cheers

 tried 2 new temp sensors with no change............... any other ideas please

Is that the black box on the passenger side of the throttle body which has i think three wires coming out of it ? is it possible to adjust this ? , as i see there is two screws that allow adjustment or does it mean changing this ?

:headvswal any idea of price and where to get one ,

Did you fit the right one?-ie the left one as you look in the engine bay?

Also do a diagnostic, might save you keep buying/replacing parts! ;)

:nana2: Thanks everyone , i will try tomorrow to do a ecu diagnostic, if the weather holds off.

  • 3 weeks later...

Did yopu reolve this? I have a similar problem at the moment.

cheers

no such luck,

i have noticed that i have a sound from the passenger side, sounds like air, so i might have a split hose. I am waiting for the new hoses to arrive ,

Hi guys, i followed retros link but cudn't find the diagnostic switch...

I'm abit new 2 all this, is there any1 that can give no alil more detail?

Thanx

The switch has to be made up mate if you want a permanent fixture

If not just connect both terminals with some wire for the said time and you will still get the flashes

Well, i was going 2 go 4 the paperclip approach but its the actual teminal as such i can't find...

I followed the instructions, by the bonnet realease rite?

But allas i was unable 2 locate it, then hunted round the rest of the bay but cudn't find anything that looked like the picture.

( From now on pls refer 2 me as the village idiot)

Thing is have just bought the car & no only a little & have a similar prob 2 the guy who started the thread, So i thought if mayb i cud find the cause?

Ok mate here goes

Not the engine bay but the drivers side footwell

you will need to remove the under cowling that sits above your feet and below the steering column ( should be 4 screws )

Just above the bonnet release lever there should be a grey plug mate.

Ha ha!!!

That'll b y i've been scratching my head...

Thanx sir ur a star!!!!!

Have you solved this yet as I have a similar problem?

Got a code 55 :-)

V happy but...

Still have the problem on start, only lasts 4 a min at most & then

no problems at all.

Think i'll get a full sevice & c what happens!
