I have 2 noises which I would like advice on how to cure (I am fed up turning the stereo up!).

The first is from one side of the Instrument Console, and I guess may be there from re-assembling following the Speedo change (kph to mph). It sounds like plastic on plastic and is there with every bump in the road. Is there a recommended compound to use to isolate the two surfaces?

The second is a noise that I remember from every Estate car I have sat in? I guess this would be the Tailgate hinges, and is a high pitch smooth metal on metal. It is there every time the car flexes. Any advice on what can be done?

There may be other common noises that I may "introduce" as I go around modifying/upgrading the car, so any tips on what to use, etc. would be welcomed. (e.g. when fitting new speakers into the doors).

Thanks, Geoff

The metal on ,metal squeek could well be your bonnet latch. Give it some grease and as if by magic it goes away.
