need some help from graphic designers out there

As the thread title suggests I ain't got a clue

 

I would like to get adobe photoshop and Illustrator for my boyfriend as he severely needs cheering up he's been made redundant and is looking for a new job ( he went to Uni and studied Graphic Design) so I know that's the programmes he's been going on about,

 

Jeez it is bloody expensive, what are the demo's like?

I haven't a clue as I'm not into this type of software at all :confused: :confused:

 

kinda wary about downloading anything, would someone recommend a good site

there seems to be lotsa different version 6, 7, cS2 , elements arrgghhhhhhh :headvswal I haven't even looked at illustrator yet, too much information for a friday afternoon

 

What would you guys suggest please?

my boss, got loads of adobe stuff including photoshop off ebay, they are copies and before they arived she was sceptical about how good the quality would be, but turned out they were really good!

i have photoshop 7

latest adobe suite version is CS2. It is expensive unless you get the cheap version (elements) which is cut down.

 

or unless you get an illegal copy off the net like most people do.

 

adobe can't mind that much, people have downloaded illegal copies for years but they don't do shit BECAUSE the more people who are skilled in using it, the more people go into industries that use it, and therefore there are more BUSINESSES that buy proper copies :)

I have CS2. Its a really great program and probably the best and easiest to use in that calibre. I aint gotten into it yet but my son is becoming a bit of an expert. :D Knowing it has also got him a placement in a college later this year. Im over the moon for him. If you dont get sorted give me a shout. :D
