Royal,

It was a very very windy day today, all of the guys were called off from working on the beach/foreshore area.

Anyway, I dragged myself out of the office to take some pics of it and thought I might aswell take some showing what the waves and that were like.

Anyway send me your email address and I will let you see the clips. But ignore my voice as I have a bad cold and loosing it.

PS, this is at work (9 miles from Thurso) apparently its 2-3 times worse at Thurso beach.

It defo will, I used to have a 7'6" mini mal and it went in a treat. In the boot and into the passenger foot well with the seat fully back.

Bloody hell mate, you don't want to be out in on-shore winds like that!! You wont come back in!Wait till the winds are offshore then the waves are good.

Heres a phot of my Zed surf wagon with an almost 8ft mini mal and a 6'6" short board in :D Don't like the salty sand in the car but needs must and all that :wack:

Dave

good to hear, back in 3 weeks shall be loading up the board and going on a road trip to newquay then. you know anywhere near to kent that ever gets any decent surf royal?

Send me an email and Ill pass over the videos and youll get a better idea of what it was like

I love the sea, shame I live so far from it :(

Enjoy going to scarborough, but they now closed off the pass - you got some huger ass waves crashing over the barriers at times. Always fancied taking a pic of a car parked in front - dont fancy all that sea salt on me zed tho.

Hello mate, hope the deployment is going ok. There's not really any surf up this way. I've seen pictures of ok surf on the south coast once in a blue moon but thats about it. Theres a kent surf website that has some pictures but the surf is tiny. I think it would make me depressed travelling and checking it everyday and having loads of people surfing tiny surf. I was in Poole for several years and didn't get one good wave. Its too inconsistent and mostly just wind-chop. Let me know if you are doing any weekend trips to the SW though, maybe we can split the travel costs. I may be able to sort somewhere to stay.

I've seen a lot of pictures from Scarborough way lately. Yorkshire is a bit of an undiscovered and unexpected surf area. Some very heavy waves.

Dave

You're making me envious now Jon! I've just spent an hour looking through that site checking out the pictures. I really wish I was near some decent surf again. Worse thing is that after not doing it for many months I'll probably be rubbish again and it'll take me a few sessions to get back into it. End up spending thousands on a holiday but only get a few days good surf. Dave

yeah will do mate, sure ill be heading down there at some point. deployments finally coming to an end, so itll soon be time to blow all my money on the zed. one of our blokes lives up in middlesborough says theres some good spots up near there. might have to check that out as well sometime.

My mate has just phoned me. He got back from Bali a couple of days ago. Great waves, got a solid beating into the reef several times, sounds like fun! I've still got scars from when I was out there two years ago.Dave
