dsc 130 psi..... psc 130 psi

dsf 135 psi..... psf 135 psi

......guvnors results cold......

dsr 130 psi ..... psr 120 psi

dsc 125 psi ..... psc 125 psi

dsf 130 psi ..... psf 125 psi

this car has been stood for 2 days.(mine was stood for 4 months).

Unless your compression tester is sick then I'd guess you have two engines with problems.

i'm going to put pauls back together run it and see what i get.

as soon as i get time.

See if you can borrow another compression tester from somewhere.

got a second tester and the results are almost the same give or take a psi.

just running the engine now to warm it up then test it again.

If all cylinder readings are within 10 percent of each other, no further testing is required and compression is considered optimal.

the test was done again when warm

and each cylinder was up by 15 psi

conclusion - both engines are fine

its just too slow

your panicing now LOL

even with your secret mods i'll get you :x: :nelson:

Nissan Manual! - http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi

(Engine Mechanical)( page 9) (warm Engine!)

As Stated 186PSI is standard

As Stated 142PSI is Minimum!

Difference between cylinders 14PSI Max.

So youre quite happy that the result's are the cylinders Psi readings are less than 10% of each other but they are near Minimum recommended PSI values?

Oh Right And?

Guvnor wants to know if his engines ok! He has come on here for ADVICE so i am letting him know if his engine is ok!

After all i happen to be a Mechanic!!

Is Andyp getting on your T!Ts too?

not that i'm wanting to step in here guys, but could you BOTH be right...

with the extra 15psi when warm it shows that the motors are both within the manuals guidelines doesnt it...

after 10-15 yrs and 50k+ miles would the figures stated be classed as "within normal parameters"??

i'm no mechanic by a long shot, and may be talking out of my ar*e, but i'd say the figures stated, given the parameters, suggest the motors are indeed fine..

if i'm wrong then so be it, wouldnt be the first time.. lol..

Great though isn't it Mate you try and help people and they get arsey! :(

I would say that you should be looking at 165+ PSI (Warm)for a Good Sound Engine.

Incase anyone should be looking at buying a good used one!:)
