it was my mates one, even though i beat him i was dissapointed with the zed.

basically from stand still his acceleration was faster, i pulled away in thirs and then was gone but still is this normal.

i thought the zed would have left him from start to end.

is there something wrong with my car.

what do you lads reckon.

You should have butchered him all the way I'd have thought.

tell me about it

they are light cars, zeds are pretty lumbering things not very good off the line.

Are you stuck in safety boost? Your stock boost gauge will only reach 2/3rd of full scale if so. If boosting properly you should see a full scale reading, mind you most of the aging gauges are crap anyway!! A decent gauge is a fine investment.

You should be able to outrun a 325i with ease, a stock Z should even out do an M3 in a drag race, would be close though.

Light or heavy the zed will have no problem with a E30 325i from standstill.

A 0-60 time of 5 secs compared to 8 secs.

The only problem with a properly running zed is getting traction of the line, you can spin them up in 1st, 2nd and in 3rd if your not carefull.

If traction was'nt the issue, then do an ECU test as your almost certainly down on power.

I slaughtered a 330 coupe last week, and I mean left him messy in the road.

Then a day later I could have raced an M3, I pushed him around a round about but we went different ways so i couldn't get the chance to have a propper go.

But yes you can beat the 325 on a pushy

I had one of those try to race me the other week. I didnt even waste my time. While we are on the question of BMWs. Do you think a Z running 14.5psi, trust SMICs, Nisstek chip, Apexi induction, would have a decent chance against a 2001 M5. The 5.0l V8 version.

My m8 is away to buy one and I think he may have a faster car than me for a change. I think they have 400bhp from the factory

IIRC the new M5's have a little button that when pushed frees up another 100BHP!, old Mr Clarkson thought the car was crap until this button was pressed, then it was like letting a hungary tiger out of a cage!

i raced one of these on sunday dave,it really was a case of who got the reaction first,i was at no time was i ever pulling away anymore than half a car length,i was shocked at how what seemed like a tame family saloon suddenly turned into a snarling beast from hell,if they put that engine into something less than 1800kg we are in trouble,i looked up the stats on them and its 0-60 4.1 and even more impressive is 0-100 in 8.6.

My mate just sold his 2002 M5 and even though I never raced it, I've been in it quite a few times and to be honest my car wouldn't of stood much of a chance against it. They are seriously quick machines and stop like nothing else I've been in

that is wrong, they are 4.7 0-60 and 11.3 0-100. Im not sure if even macca's mental zed would get to 100 in 8.6!!

yup, 4.7 to 60 and 507 bhp!

ah sorry, didnt see the year! :) bargain at under 20k!

i stand corrected,i only looked quickly and see them on car stats at the previous times :wack:
