Will this work?

Sorry to post another query about my non-functional speedo on here but...

It aint the speedo converter - it's either the auto box or the speedo itself so,

If I (carefully) use a multimeter (think that's what they're called) on the speedo wire while moving, should it pick up the pulses from the auto box and thus diagnose whether I need a new sensor or speedo?

Otherwise it's a 50/50 guess.

Hi Bud, if you connect the DMM to the wires in the speedo cluster that correspond to the wires from the speed sensor then take a little drive then you'll know the wiring is ok (sorry cannot remember the colours ) see the online manual for the wiring.Personnally I'd plumb straight for the speedo as I've had speedo failure twice

good luck

Not wishing to confuse but I went through 2 converters until the problem was correctly diagnosed as a faulty speed sensor in the autobox. changed it and haven't looked back :hyper:

OK then, thanks guys.

I can source both parts reasonably cheaply, so I guess I'll do the DMM test and find out for certain.

Or if I can't be arsed I'll buy both.
