Potential problems... Open the bonnet and write down every part number, then replace them all! LOL

Import insurance try A-Plan 0845 0711234 gave me a fantastic quote. Specialist vehicle dept.

The car is very tempromental. Is that a real word?

Insurance is a rip off especially imports and if you mod it slightly it boosts up your premium.

Crusies? Well Im not a sea person my self biggrin.gif that is the closest most of us go to crusies.

We do meet up on fairly regular basis. There is a meet being arainged for some where in Birmingham. Where are you from?

Welcome to the madhouse!,

If you bought a clean, well maintained Z, and as long as you stick to the service intervals, it is a reliable everyday car.

Have fun!

Brian

Nissan Motor GB & Local Main Dealer have the attitude that "we don't care whether it's UK or J spec - they're all Nissans and we look after them.". They will check with Japan for differences between UK & J parts.

Insurance was a problem with most insurers saying "sorry we don't deal with imported cars" (so I said "WTF do you think the UK cars came from in the first place?" but they had a sense of humour failure.) I ended up with Bell Direct who are happy with imports.

You might like to join the Z Club which has a mag and tech secretary and that sort of thing. They can be found at www.lightman.co.uk/zclub

Wave your mouse over the main page logo top left to find the link to AndyP's page which has a lot of good buyer's guide links.

Check the timing belt has been done at the correct interval. Because I had no service history with my J-spec car, I got it done first thing just in case.

Me - I love the thing. Ferrari performance and Nissan service costs! (Can't be beat.)

In the end I prefer the J Spec models because the bonnet badge says "Z" and not Nissan...

Look after it well and you'll have a ball.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Zed ownerships and dreams of having shares in petrol manufacturers...

May your garage days be few and your fun neverending. smile.gif

Anita.

Acquaint yourself with the archives on this forum and www.twinturbo.net. everything you ever wanted to know about the Z and some stuff you didn't, is all there. Enjoy.

One piece of advice, dont fly a 2 metre square stars and stripes from your electric aerial.

Coz if you do it will snap and you will have to send Andy £50 for a replacement smile.gif

LMAO!
