I need to replace the black plastic strip that runs down the middle of the two T-tops. Don't I need to get the roof lining out to do it?

Take out the T Tops remove the rubber trim from around the door edges and you will see philips screws in the plastic trim where the T Tops where, undo them then you should notice the roof lining drop. This is from memory but should be correct. IIRC there will also be push in and pull out clips so just tug the roof lining down untill it unclips. HTH
