High tension leads? I had this exact same problem just after my car had been imported - turned out to be a simple fix as the battery lead had been disconnected as it was being shipped over and was subsequently loose.

realy? i have checked all that and cleaned the temp sensor at the front still no change.. its annoyin because its only started in the past three days funny enough its only four days since i bought it! gettin to the point of pullin my z31 t out of the garage and using that bless it never had this with a single blower!

Could be somthing as simple as a fooked battery, mine was a complete pig to start in the first winter after I bought it, and I was told it had had a recent new one fitted. Someone then sugested that a new battery might help, and hay-presto never had a problem with it starting again!!

Also your best investment if you've just got your Zed, would be to subscribe to this club, well worth the £20 membership!! The savings are tremendous :D :D :duffer:

it turns over ok it just wont stay runnin...........

it turns over ok it just wont stay runnin...........

Should of explained myself better. Yep, mine turned over OK, just didn't like to run properly, which is why I didn't think it was the battery, but then It started to loose power quite quickly after that, which was when someone sugested tyring a new one.

Failing that, see if you can get it hooked upto a ConZult for a diognostic session.

Other possibles are;

Plug/s

Coil-Pack/s

Coil-Pack connector/s

PTU

Injector connector/s

All of the above fail, but would start with the connectors first, especially the coil-pack ones, as they become brittle and the clip breaks off, thus making it loose.

ok, dont wanna be a pain explain the losing of power? matty

Lol :D I just re-read that bit, and it doen't sound right :headvswal

O should have written '... and the battery started to die on subsiquent morning starts after that, so it had to be charged regually'

Or, in English, once it kept doing the bad starting/ not wanting to start, the battery soon started to die completely, thus a new battery was got, then I never had the problem again. Although the warmer weather was coming then as well, but saying that, I've owned it through three winters so far and not had this same prob since! But I've also replaced my PTU, all coil-pack connectors, one coil-pack and all six injector connectors as well, and I've installed an earth grounding kit.

Oh and, someone asking a perfectly good question, is never a pain, not in my book anyway. :D

battery failure can do some wierd stuff to the running of the car ...my son has a VW polo reliable little thing it is buthad the same and i mean the same symptoms as you !!

changed battery as a result of going on the VW polo owners club forum ( he is a paid up member ) and hey presto car rund like new
