Having got myself what I hope is a bit of a bargain on a Shogun, I'm talking to Bob about knocking me up a decent set of sounds etc.

However, still liking bargains, I'm interested in views on how practical it would be to use a Playstation as an in-car CD player. I'd be using the DVD remote control. Is it going to be a real pain every time I want to play a CD or is it as easy as if I had a dash mounted CD player ?

I'm not worried about it being more tricky to change disks - just the whole process of getting the thing playing.

Cheers

stick to an in dash cd player as the ps doesnt like being moved around and playing especially when playing movies in car dvd and cd players have special mountings and suppression whereas the ps and ps2 were never meant for a mobile enviroment like a car ask bob im sure he'll tell you as he must have fitted a few in his time

Must agree with you there Tooley, the PS and PS2 don`t have the damper set up to deal with a mobile enviroment. You can use them as myself and Tooley do put long term won`t do the laser pick up alot of good.

Single CD`s aren`t that expensive and you will need a head unit of some sort to control the sound whether it be through an audio input or an FM modulator.

Bob, I'll give you a call sometime - I think that's going to be easiest !

Thanks for your thoughts Tooley.
