Looked at all the existing threads, but haven't seen an answer to this question:

Have decided to go down the replacement chip route, but some threads say the speedo needs to be changed for a UK one. Why is that, what's the issue if I don't change the speedo straight away. Will it cause auto box problems with incorrect signals all over the place or what?. If it's just incorrect speed then I'm not worried about that as I can use my GPS.

Also, I spotted a post that said changing the 33K R10 resistor to a 20K one will convert the speedo to a UK one. Anyone done this, did it work.

Cheers folks, maybe soon I'll be able to answer questions rather than keep asking them .......... still got a few little niggles to sort, but I'll get there.

Delimiting won't effect anything other than the top end speed of the car! The speedo will only be out if you fit a conversion box behind the dials and don't change the clocks from kph to mph!

as you say if you chip the car,all that will happen is you remove the limiter,so your kph dial will read off the scale :D

the problem is fitting speedo convertors can cause more problems than its worth,it sometimes upsets the speed sensor, just keep your kph clocks and buy an aftermarket speed clock or use your gps, this is all i did i can read kph up to 180mph thats fine with me
