I have an HKS boost gauge which goes from 0 to 1.5. When I floor my car the gauge goes to about .6 The in dash turbo gauge reads from -7 to +7 and when I floor the car it goes almost all the way to +7. Is there a problem. Should the HKS boost gauge go higher. My car has an apexi induction kit and a stainless steel exhaust with megaphone pipes.

Thanks

Konrad

My standard guage goes round to just under +7.

The HKS guage is in bar i think so just check on a conversion chart of bar pressure to whatever standard guages measure to see if the two guages are a mile out

My car is at home. What is the original dial mesured in. +7 what?

so 450 (rounded down) diveded by 100 is 4.5 so the two gauges are out by......im not a mathematician lol

between 4 and 5. I was just told that the HKS Gauge goes to .7 not .6 so thats converts to 525.0432 which is close to 5 mmHg but a little over. Which is about where the standard gauge goes.

0.6 bar is the standard 9psi the stock motor puts out.You had boost pressure raised a bit? Also remember the standard gauges arent that accurate

I was just looking at the buyers guide and it says

• maximum boost-level on a stock 300Z should be around around 9psi, 0.6bar:

(..bare in mind that the stock boost-gauge might not be very accurate.)

Drama over

mine go's up to 6mmhg on std dial so thats but 11psi? i think

I’m not sure if mine is standard or not, but it goes up to 5.6ish on the import gauge (ie the 4th bar 80% of 7), this equates to about 10.8PSI which is higher than standard, but I guess that the factory gauge isn’t that accurate.

Still trying to understand my car, as the top speed is only 130, how fast should a standard car be?

Top speed about 160 on a standard I think...

Factory guage is absolutely useless Im afraid. I've had 3 different sets of clocks in mine (for various reasons) and each has given different readings.

Car should continue to accellerate pretty hard way past 130.....Standard top speed is around the 165-175mph region when derestricted (or 112mph jap and 155mph UK when restricted still).

Add an aftermarket boost gauge.I fiitted mine in under 10mins (once getting advice from here) and then you will have a good idea of your boost.Mines at 0.6 which is what i can gather is standard boost.Anything under that you have saftey boost and you wont get to the 165mph you should be expecting....

You should have no problem passing 130!
