I'm looking for a 5volt 1.5amp supply straight from the car, is there one? and where can i find it?

 

it's for my Archos video recorder.. i used a 5v regulator that i had kicking about but i don't think it's rated for so much current, maybe 500ma or so so it's nae good. Instead of using another regulator i'd rather use a supply straight from the car if possible.

you could use 2 of those regulators in parallel, or buy a cigarete lighter variable voltage supply (the ones u get at markets for charging phones and stuff) take it apart and solder wires on instead of the cigarette lighter adapter, i dont think there is such a supply on the car, if there is id be very surprised.

yup thanks mate. I should have an old car phone charger somewhere i'll see what i can do with one of those.
