Following on from an earlier thread, I was wondering who has had goose honk and how did you go about solving it? Has anyone replaced their recircs with stock items and resolved the problem?

I've got "the Honk" - but you knew that already !! ;)

Not me Steve,had my Z for 6 years now and I know you had yours for a lot longer,but never had goosey goosey gander this end

i just turn the stereo up for the time being till i fit some dump valves.

had really bad goose honk before i took it off the road... now it;s got dump valves, so hopefully when i put it all back together the honk'll be gone!!

I noticed the goose after i fitted my apexi induction kit, don't know if they are related. I'll be fixing it with some dump valves when i get the money :cool:

I had 'the honk' on my UK, but not on the Jspec!

I used to have it before I ditched my re-circs and went for blow offs... Didn't mind the honk though, made my Z sound a bit like AirWolf when showing -1, 0 or 1 Psi boost... Used to scare padestrians with that!!! Good fun!!! :tongue:

Got the honk on my J-spec- had it before I did any mods too.

 

You missed one of the solutions though Steve- accelerate through 4000rpm as fast as possible! :D

Do a search on here for "goose honk". It's a common issue with the stock recirc valves :D

It's also interesting that the majority of people haven't had "the honk" - maybe the recirc valves wear differently. Are the Jap different to the UK ?
