Cheers bud, this seems like a good one but have not heard of the make:

LiteOn SOSW-833SX Slimline External USB 2.0 Dual Layer 16x16 DVD±RW ReWriter - Retail (CD-049-LO)

Slimline, portable and packed with features for the laptop user.

- DVD+R: 8x

- DVD+RW:4x

- DVD-R: 8x

- DVD-RW: 4x

- DL: 2.4x (DVD+R only)

- CD-R: 24x

Price: £59.95 (£70.44 Including VAT at 17.5%)

how bout getting a pioneer Writer for about £30 then chucking it in an external case - looking at another £20ish.

IMO Pioneer are prob one of the best.

you can get a 16XDVD-R DL for roughly same price.

Any links bud??

sorry, give us a couple of mins.

Theres some cheap uns on http://www.ebuyer.co.uk

Very cheap them. The pioneer is a full size DVD Writer you realise tho - so prtability is down slightly after youve put it in a usb case.

ebuyer is blocked by our work proxy :(

they are selling this though

Pioneer DVR-110D 16x DVD±RW Dual Layer Internal IDE (Silver) - OEM (DVR110DSV)

Type: DVD Writer

Brand: Pioneer

Department: DVD Writers £28.82

Delivery Cost: £4.46

This is what I have - Cant fault it

so so, you dont need firewire really - usb2 is fine.

Also - watch out for his postage - thats putting price up another £9.

May be cheaper to buy from previous link I posted.

or buy a writer from ebuyer / datakits and an external usb case from Ebay.

Sorted a dvd rewriter now, what about the dvd rw discs themselves?? Its a mine field of which ones to get?? http://search.ebay.co.uk/blank-dvd-disc_W0QQfromZR9QQfromZR9QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQfstypeZ1QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEFSRCHQ3aSRCH Anybody know which play on most dvd players?? as I used to get problems playing some purple in colour copied dvds on my player?? Cheers for all the help.

The ones I use Datawrite Titaniums 16x are a CMC dye.

Either way Ive not had a bad one out of last 100 or so Ive burned.

Here - http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product.php?lang=&submenu=&menu=&product_id=3039&session=28147ec134ac4dccc9d1f5e8e1a18d29

if not get some G04 Riteks or G05's - theyre pretty good - wouldnt bother with RW as cost outweighs DVD-R's.

Just burn em and chuck em

I get mine from bigpockets.co.uk

hi speedz..

well i see your sorted for a dvd burner now, however i can beat big pockets on disc to quantity prices. i cover all brands and the only ones i stock are AAA+ quality rated and all are 5 star rated. pm me if you need some.

i dont know if any of you remember but i did offer discounts to members here for anything purchased. if you dont ask you dont get. if you would rather pay inflated prices by using other vendors its upto you, but remember the offer is there!!

Top man, how much can you sort out the 16X Datawrite titaniums for then mate.
