You need one of these

attachment.php?attachmentid=20314&stc=1

why not buy a gauge which comes with a sender and then drill and tap it in the metal pipe next to the original unit.

cheers

Right then, been out and took a quick photo. Its the black and red wire matey. I took it off there and used that for the main feed for all my guages. I earthed it by looking up inside the foot well by the bonnet release and found a bolt. A bit awkward but worth it.

Just behind the ignition barrel. Below the steering column bud.

sender and guage thought just the guage needed earthing?

how do you earth the sender?

if u are using the metal adapter pipe there will be a little crosshead screw on it for earthing the sender.

If the sender is fitted to a metal water pipe it will earth itself through contact with engine

adaptor like in pic bud so that has to be earthed aswell

that screw you can just run a small length of wire to an earth around the engine bay if need be

no reading have earthed gauge ran wire to ignition and to sender

you will need to earth the sender then

try a bit of wire touching the thread of the sender that is earthed and see if you get a reading
