I'm humbled about running costs on reading...

...Evo!!! Nico mentioned the review of the new GT-R so I had to go buy asap! Nice! wink.gif

But read about the guys who bought the Maser Bi-Turbo jobbies. Replacement stock turbo £3900 + VAT!!! Do what??? Eh???

Engine out for 48,000 mile service??? Thought only Ferarri pulled that stunt on unsuspecting owners like Misseur Clarckson! LOL biggrin.gif

Turbo(bottom of the range) £1139.65(Ghibli Cup £4582.50) inclusive of VAT but not with fitting!

Has the world gone insane overnight then???

It's engine out on an MR2 turbo for a cambelt change ! So they're not the only ones ... frown.gif

A mate of mine has got one of those Ghiblet thingies. £15000 and it looks really plain and boring. The interior is all hand done and leather but the ergonomics hadn't been thought out very well. It was a 330bhp one I think but it didn't feel very fast and span the wheels very easily. My mate reckoned it was a lot lighter than the Z which wouldn't be hard. I prefer the Z, if you parked the 2 side by side most non-car-knowing people would probably think the Z cost more. The chrome clock on the Maserfarti was really cool though. Maybe I'll get a longer ride next time.

Yeah I know what you're saying matey. But at the end of the day it's got a Maser badge on and the trident three prongs on the front! REZPECT! wink.gif

Not a cheesburger NISSAN badge on the front which incidentally is fucking off mine once it's been to LEONARDOS for magic bodywork treatment. Have just ordered(via Smithy...top bloke) "Z" logo in red...yummy!

Mine just has a Z on the bonnet, I peeled off the Fairlady Z stickers from the back, wheels and steering wheel also just have a Z.

The only mention of Nissan is on the brake calipers. Now if I were to put pukka Porsche brakes on it people might think I owned a Porsche.

Then I'd have to sell it 'cos I'd be so embarassed LOL

Good effort mate, I'm basically de-badgering mine aswell. Just "Z" logos but I might take the piss and get a pukka Datsun logo for the arse end! So when I do whoop the competition they'll know they've been cained by a car with a rep for being dull and a rust bucket! ROFL biggrin.gif

Does make me laugh that though! How can they say the Datsun 120y or Nissan Sunny were dull? We were churning out fucking Cortinas and Escorts for christs sake! LMFAO biggrin.gif

Yep, just the Z logo on the front panel and no other badging is the way to go!

Ashamed of your Datsun heritage are you? biggrin.gif

Glen -shhh, don't mention the war

I rekon that bloke must have a seriously small dick cos he needs to drive 50K worth of car to get a shag!! That's assuming that he actually owns a Porsche at all of course. He probably drives a Nissan Micra! LOL

I wont mention what the Japanese did to your Grandfathers in World War 2 then.

Mmmmm....nice people?...NOT!

p.s.Ever heard of Anglo-Saxons? biggrin.gif

it aint an engine out job for cambelt on an MR2, my dads m8 who got us our 300 has done 7 or 8 MR2 cambelts including 2 turbos and im almost certain the engine stays in on all of them ill ask him later.

Ours also has the Z logo on the front and wheel, still has the fairlady Z on the back but no twin turbo badge. Most people are shocked its a nissan when u tell them after they fail to notice the nissan badges on the back and the brake calipers.

Not on the turbo it ain't. It's a different motor to all the others.

Yep I think you are correct Mr. P! wink.gif

Yamaha engine built with twin entry turbo charger setup! Not twin turbo as most think, but it does the job of turning the hairdresser mobile into Satan!!! Be warey of MR-2 Turbos, seriously quick motor...especially the later versions at 245bhp I think! Bad, bad piece of kit.

I've got Jap videos of MR-2 Turbos whooping RX-7's and Evos.

Yup, think it's the Celica motor they use in the turbo. Lotta power in those things, bit short of torque for my liking though and they don't go in a straight line when you open the throttle !
