I have just ordered a head unit for Audrey, oh I think I must explain. Audrey is what I have named the motor due to the fact that Audrey Hepburn played the lead in the film My Fairlady, can you see where I'm going with this?

ย

Anyway, the car has an aftermarket head unit in it at the moment but its Japanese. What I need to know is will the plugs be the same or does it not have an ISO connection.

Cheers, Scrawni.

iirc, audrey will need to be wired in 'normally', dont

think the japs used an iso block tbh.

Audrey will also need an adapter for the aerial plug, approx

ยฃ10 - ยฃ14, any good motor factor should stock one of these.

No probs with hard wireing was doing it years ago before iso leads came out.

I was going to do away with the arial and get a digi arial, has anybody used these to good effect?

The adaptors seem very pricey. I am just about to wire in a stereo.

ย

Is there any reason why you can't just cut off a normal arial connector from an old stereo, cut off the jap connector then just crimp the normal connector on?

Guys .. when you fit a new headunit its always worth hardwiring in an ISO socket for your headunit to plug into .. as a lot of retail outlets wont accept back a faulty head unit thats had the ISO plug cut off .. and justin.. you can just solder on a new plug .. the adaptors are only madefor simplicity

If i remember right, it`s the same plug as the Micra uses, can`t emember the part number though.

If you have the aerial plug that has 2 pins on it you ae better getting the right plug as the Z has 2 aerials for different frequencies so better off with the right part.
