I've been activly looking for a zed to buy for the last couple of weeks, :dance: :nana2: :dance:

 

i Keep checking the for sale section, as i thought it'd be best to buy a car that has been looked after by some who knew what they were doing. :rolleyes: :tongue:

and was wondering what advise anybody had about importing a zed? has anybody done it? any major prob's? have been looking of an import site today and the zed's they have are for silly money, 94 LWB TT £1600 with all shipping fee's and taxes but not SVA, :shock: :shock:

Didn't know that, thought all imports had to get stuff changed and go thru SVA?! what about fog lights and mot's. do you not have to get an SVA certificate to register the car with DVLA?

Older than 10 years only require MOT (where things like Foglights come into play)

so import one stick ona fog light and get it mot'd! sound easy :rolleyes:

Hi Neil, If you can get a 94 TT Zed delivered to the UK for £1600 it would be a bargain, and I would go for it providing you get alook at the auction sheet which shows the condition of the car. They grade them according to condition, I think it is 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. The usual scoring for a really good car is 4 or 4.5 which would have low mileage, good bodywork and usually everthing working as it should. I have a mate who imports Bongos (people carriers by Mazda) and although he buys 1995's to avoid the SVA test, the auction price for a good one is about £2400 but he has to pay shipping on top which is about £1100 per vehicle. your price of £1600 sounds very cheap. I would be interested if its true.

I'd say unless you know the car and are happy with the person you buying from then Import one yourself using a repertable importer. That way you can look at the jap auction sheets prior to bidding. You really want a Grade 4 or a 3.5 if its got a lot of mods.

I thought that it was a bit cheap my self so re checked the site, that's the starting bid :slap: ,it's an aution grade 4,

The company i was looking at have been doing this for a while now, with alot of happy customers, still not sure which way to go, paying for the zed then waiting 5 or 6 weeks to get it! might save a bundle though, have to look into it a bit more. :rolleyes:
