I have 18 inch rims on z-rated Q do all ZX skip out at the rear?

This happens more when the roads are wet and less tread and over small bumps, is it just beacuse of the displacement of rubber on the tarmac? feels like shit

cheers rob

p.s. wish it had 4wd smile.gif

It could be:

Shocks

Bushes

Incorrect tyre pressure.

My TT does this 'wibble arse end thinks its marilyn monroe coo coo k choo' action over drain covers - not sure why myself makes it feel like its got its arse spanked for being naughty wobble wobble.

have your HICAS bushes checked !mine are the same !mine are to be replaced very soon

Definately have your hicas bushings checked, the Z is usually quite well behaved, and will only tail out if provoked.

What are the tyres, they arent tyres that came supplied with a jap import? If they are then yeah they are shite and the arse will be all over the place.

Defo the bushes at the end of the hicas unit however I have been trying to locat some sets of these for over 6 weeks they are on back order at Nissan, looks like will have to go to order poly one`s

Could also be the old dodgy speed convertor on a Jap import. Seems to make the HICAS and power steering misbehave.

Does the steering feel quite heavy at parking speed and too light on the move?

Also any problems with the speedo going to zero occasionaly?

I think its a problem with your 18" rims- but help is at hand!

I can swap you a set of stock 16" UK spec rims- can't say fairer than that wink.gif

Dave

thanks guys for the info, the power steering seems fine, the car isn't an import and the rims are O.Z racing 18inch with z-rated tyres which I put on,originally had on z-rated Avons. dave tell me what's the advantage of swapping to 16inch? cus right now its mighty fine round corners smile.gifSenna yes it does the same thing over drains and I noticed when the tyres have no tred even worse. Chris the speedo does go down to zero when starting, mainly from cold although not always. Anyway I'll get the HICAS BUSHES

checked out, will let u all know

p.s how does a new set of bushes run?

cheers

guys

Prolly sha**ed rear shocks. Is one side doing it more than the other? Too much wheel travel means too much toe in out change effect due to the multi link rear. It is amplified if one shock is worse than the other

When my speed sensor went intermitantly faulty the car seemed like it was all over the place. The back end felt like it was twitching about even on a straight road sometimes - I presume the rear wheel steering had no idea what it was meant to be doing at a given speed!. I also noticed the power steering was sometimes too light at speed and went heavy when parking (Still worked but didn't feel right). Speedo used to drop to zero occasionaly.

If the ECU detects a permanent problem the HICAS light eventually comes on but if it's intermitant the car has no idea why it's doing 90mph one second and 10 the next with other sensors sending it different messages.

Mine was an auto but I presume the same applies to a manual.

Could be something entirely different you are describing anyway...
