yep silli old me got in a mess again :headvswal

 

built a new comp from scratch, couldent get anything on the moniter, so took it to work and the fella sorted it out was the memmory in wrong slot :x:

 

right then i have changed the cpu from the 3200 amd to the 3800 dual core, also pulled the graphics card out and put it back in,

 

and yep you guessed it nothing on the moniter again :headvswal :headvswal

 

i have reset the cmos battrey even pulled it out, still nothing, the comp fires up and hear the hard drive fire up and when i try to switch off the pc it wont go off which means it has pased a certain stage or somethin ( no laughing you guys :tongue: )

 

so what can i do now then any suggestions??

check clock jumper settings, if your getting no bios beep then it may be disabled in bios, disconnect your hardrive also, so you have no drives connected, and then boot it up also if you have a gfx card installed take it out and use the onboard gfx from its vga port on the back.

 

if the display shows the bios then you need to rule out one of those, connect just hardrive only first then restart, if that works, cd drive restart if that works then go into bios and make sure that the gfx is set to agp if you have an agp card, if it wont show on screen without gfx card in then its the motherboard.
