Time for upgrading

Needs some help here planing to upgrade suspension, brakes and wheels. Im going for the full suspension upgrade, can anyone tell me if i missed anything.

Suspension:

I plan to get all the following from Stillen, adustable upper arms, rear adjustale camber bars, adjustable tession rods, rear stut brace anbd solid sway bars. Also going to get hiper damper II coil overs from HKS. anyone know where i can get a front strut brace from? and is there any other upgradable suspesion parts i can get that ive missed?

Wheels:

I want to get some 19x9, running 245/35s(front) and 19x10, running 295/35s Blitz technospeed wheels, will these go straight on? If not will 18s of the same width go on?

Brakes.

Does anyone know if i can get 10 pot tarox calipers with 14 inch disc for the 300.

also is it possible to fit a dual spa gauge reading oil pressure and oil temperature to read the transmission oil and differential oil?

cheers for any help.

Can't see why not, this is what I'm in the process of doing, only for engine & ATF temp/pressure..

You basically just need to get fittings made up or brazed onto things.. Pressure is easy - 1/8BSP T with two 1/8BSP hose tails should work OK (I think that is the right ID for the hoses), try and get 8mm hose tails tho, I went for 9mm and it was a seriously tight fit with braided hose!

Temperature is a 1/8NPT which is harder - but not impossible.. I went for a T which was female 1/8NPT and male 1/8BSP, and two hose tails again..

Pretty sure (from memory) all of the fitting parts can be got from Norgren (www.norgren.com)

Although, I can't vouch for the temperatures accuracy just yet, I haven't wired it all up..

Can you come round to my house and fix my washing machine Az LMAO!

As far as the brakes go, forget Tarox, wilwood, or any other brake name, the people to go for are:

Brembo - Goldline Range

AP Racing - Proper racing stuff (not the road application). The racing four piston caliper will easily outbrake the road developed 6 piston (not that the road ones will be bad heheh), but the road stuff will be easier to fit as someone will have probably fitted before, and you probably wont have to arse around with custom bells and brackets.

Im sure everyone will agree, these calipers are the best to go for...similar story with the skyline sourced brakes, im sure they are good, but you dont sound like you are on such a small budget, so for a little bit more money, you can have brakes that will easily outbrake the skyline brakes. Brembo goldline or pukka AP Racing, are *the* brakes to have. Discs, go as big as you can do, hehe, wider discs are cooler hehe, dont go for drilled discs, some have tendency to be a bit to quick on the cooling process, the rapid cooling and heating can cause stress cracks far easier than grooved discs. Granted a good quality drilled disc wont, but AP discs come highly recommended, and they dont do max power style 40 groove discs, its useless, they have 6 grooves on and will outperform any other disc you wanna chuck at it, within reason of course.

And dont forget fluid, there is NO BETTER than Castrol SRF, its expensive...but is the best to get.

Anyhoo

Steve I have had nothing to do with AP,Like I said I know 2 other people that have,The Guy that makes my custom parts for my Z knows his stuff about brakes, he has a drag bike that is doing 176mph in a 1/4 mile, infact I would say that what he does not know about brakes in not worth knowing.I am going on his advice as he is an expert on the subject.

But......what is it you know actually went wrong with the AP brakes that made them fu**ed up?

I'm interested incase minre show any signs

Thanks

Steve

Steve the disc warped after six weeks, one of them very expensive six pot pistons decided to stick frown.gif.AP would not take it back.

Mmm! doesn't seem like good customer service allowing the purchase price of these!

I have a slight steering wheel vibrations at around 70mph up and can't determine exactly what's causing it....

Wheel balance has been checked and checked again

Could be just extra feedback from

Stillen tension rods?

Maybe slight warp on discs although heavy braking seems to be ok!

????

Thanks

Steve

Steve I also have the tension rods, and have not noticed any vibration,The only real way to tell if your discs are warped,is to put them on a lathe and spin em up wink.gif.

I'll get em checked out next week!

Steve

P.S

This brake issue has now put me 10859 posts behind you smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

talking of wheels, I've got blitz z1 technospeed 19 inch wheels so yes they do fit, check out my photo,s

Edit: Dear MAC1

Apologies,

IMHO, you talk shit wink.gif hehe

I concede to you, not all products leaving the lines can be perfect, but they are a damn site better than any Tarox, the ten pots each piston is like a 5p piece, hehe. And I know at least 4 people, where the discs have split into two pieces for whatever reason, and the simple fact that AP, Brembo and Alcon (eek cant believe I forgot Alcon only the top bollocks ones though, not the cheap stuff) are better than tarox etc etc.

Anyhoo, its personal prefernce to brakes, IMHO, AP3720 and 356mm x 28 discs are a killer setup. smile.gif

See you

Not wanting to start any arguments you understand, as can be seen from the jovialities of my last post.
