Just fitted my autogauge stealth 2 boost gauge and went out to see how much more I could wring out of her as the timing was genourous and so was the injector timing on WOT.

Turns out either my new gauge is crap or the boost has been raised somehow as the gauge is showing it boosting at 12psi at WOT??

I couldnt see any boost jets when I took a peek and couldnt see any bleed valves.

Any Ideas??

the restriction causes extra boost which the ecu fuels for.

One of the reasons im worried is that if its boosting higher the ecu isnt normally set up for that.

a aftermarket chip will allow it to fuel for higher boost and adjust the timing to cope with it

ahhhh got ya  ;)

thanks for your help mate, will have a look in the morning

what should |I be looking for on the ecu if it isnt standard mate?

Best way of finding out if you've got an aftermarket chip or not is too look at the EPROM chip... The original ones arn't socketed to the main board and after-market ones generally are like JWT's, Mines ETC... ;)

Ive just noticed on my 'standard' indiglo dial (in psi not mmg) that when i boot it, I'm apparently hitting 12 ish psi !!! :hyper: I'm not aware of any mods to the car, so am kind of in the same boat m8, let me know how the investigation goes so I can unfold the mystery under my bonnet too

(had a rolling road sesh when i got it, and it came back at:

217.3hp @ 6000 rpm

210.3ft/lb @ 4750 rpm

267.3hp @ flywheel)

cheers in advance

Brett

p.s. WHAT EXACTLY do boost jets look/feel like? and where am I looking to find them?

Stock gauge is very innaccurate. Ignore it and fit aftermarket. Those power figures suggest stock boost.
