Hi fellas , this summer is approaching and i am upgrading to BB530 tubbies forged internals balanced bottom end , 555 injectors, greddy intercoolers and some head work maybe with JWT cams and springs , looking for about 400+ rwhp and a good streetable reliable ( if i dare say it ) car

is this a reasonable BHP figure to expect or is it consevative or will i get more ?? and is there anyone local to the north west that can do this for me , i would take it to Ryan or gregg at ztech as my first choice but its just the thought of that drive down 4 times ....and i know Ryan would not be too keen to come and pick it up again ,so its swaying me to find a local place ....Ryan move your workshop more central mate !!!

cheers

Personally i think that spec would give you abit more mate :) and as for local to you with experience, Phil at C+S Woods seems more than capable of this kinda work and has spent a fair bit of time on Zeds, thats where I keep sending customers bits too anyways :D

Hi Guys

Sorry to butt in. Can i ask a question? What are the best turbos for reliable power, quick spoolig. i have been looking at 530BB. They also do 730BB, but i don't know if the spooling times would be slow? Or do the ball bearings make up for this?

I guess if you are using 530BB's that you are replacing pistons & conrods. Always been told if upping turbos, have to replace pistons & conrods. is this correct?

Regards

Kevin

The words "what are the best" kinda starts a long debate here sometimes mate :) in answer to your question on the JTW530's, yes quite a quick spool up and good all round performer proving themselves very well

As for pistons and conrods, nope not essential at all, pistons are always a good part to replace simply cos if the car was ever modified before yourself or ran high boost, you've no idea how bad it may have detted and damaged the pistons, most cases i've seen No.6 piston has blown.

Price of pistons is very good, just the labour, that said your paying to remove the engine to fit the tubs, so to split the engine and fit new pistons/rings and N/A oil squirters to suit, extra labour ain't gonna be too bad. Get a quote fella but it's not a hard job. Rest of the block is generally strong though.

hi kevin the BB730 would be monsters i think ....each to their own like Mac and Kirbz

with Mega high power zeds ....me i am never going down the 1/4 mile but i like to wipe the smug grin off pikey boys face in his dads merc or BMW ...so 400+ rwhp is more then enough for the road in general day to day driving ..however if i saw kirbz silver bullet in the rear view mirror i would do the sensible thing and indicate left ... :))

KNOW YOUR LIMITS MATE.........
