Just thought I would post some pic's during the bodywork and widebody kit fitting. The pictures were took on Wednesday, the panels were just tacked up getting the shape right. Called in today and the panels are now fitted and they are working on blending the skirt/air duct into the rear arch.

I can see the fuel cap and neck being a pain, im sure the guys at the bodyshop will cope lol.

Smooth is the look, removed door handles, aerial, spoiler and rear wash wipe has gone. Yes, keeping it Nissan AG2 red.

Or alternatively, for an ultra-smooth look, lose the filler cap entirely and relocate it to the boot. Just a thought but it worked for me :)

Didnt think of that! So, the pics in your sig, a glimpse of things to come?

Can dig out some pics of the process if you want chap. It's not that difficult THB :) Yep, a few early pics of the build being sorted by Steve at Bodywork Plus. Everything is totally custom which is a challenge to say the least. Should be more than worth it when she's finished though :)

Please do, its always nice to see the cars in development, especially when things are custom, like yours and Jason Farrows. Nothing new on mine really, treated mine more like a restoration, so all the rubbers, plastics, seals are being replaced too.

Will have a look for the fuel filler photos as soon as I can mate. These arches and the rest of the bodywork aren't based on the "Strosek" copies though (which themselves are more angular than the original Strosek kit), they're a completely new approach to a wide arch Z32. My original designs were heavily influenced by the DTM race series but incorporating a more organic feel, moving away from kits that looked too "bolt-on". The entire project is trying to accentuate the lines on the Z32 rather than replace them, trying to make the kit look as "factory fitted" as possible. We'll all know if it's worked soon enough! ;)

Iain, not much progress over the past two weeks. The guy who's doing the work had to have an operation on his knee, but is now back in work. Hopefully by the end of next week, most of the car should be primered.

  Is all I can say to that;)

Baz any idea when she will be up and running?

Iain, would say at least 3 weeks in the bodyshop, maybe more. Then its straight to C and S Woods, so Phil can do his magic with all the parts. Then off to Alunox for the exhaust to be made. Hopefully will have my interior trim back from Nipponauto ready for fitting. So, could be another month yet before all is done.

Thanks, I was talking to you at Ferrybridge before all the cars started turning up. It all starts with basic things, like boost gauges, then wheels, then its too late! lol

Barry

Well I want to see it when its done.

Did I say I wasn't sure about the wide arches? Well I am now.

Time to start saveing.

Bit more progress :) the back end is now all primered. So, next week, hopefully all the glass will be removed and the whole car will get flatted. Then hopefully, not far off the painting then.
