got to agree, it might be worth pricing a rebuild.

looking at the cost and having been offered an engine it would be cheaper to switch the engine, still may rebuild as and when i can afford too

The reason I said this is I nearly bought a zed with a fubar engine.

 

The car was cheap so I priced up a rebuild before looking at it and was surprised at what you can get rather cheap, as in the link I posted.

 

As it turned out the car was a pile of ....... no more said.

Does the offered engine have a known history i.e., from someone who has driven the car it is out of and it performed properly. Beware of 'backstreet' breakers who just want to sell an engine. It aint a 10 minute job to swop 'em......

It was but someone else has just (a few mins ago) went and put a deposit down,
