y r insurance companys such a bunch of cock suckers, im 23 from bournemouth with a motor trade policy 500 tpft any car any value. my mate was set 2 buy my z as im skint and need money for my lowrider £600 they said sweet he thinks then he gets a call is it a import yep fine £1800 then. hes 31 and from benfleet essex hes called 43 companys cheapest is 900 plus tracker any help guys??

Unfortunately this seems to be the case these days - imports are a license to print money for the insurance companies for no apparent reason what-so-ever. I have heard ONE "STORY" about import insurance being so expensive due to import subarus going round corners and the back wheel falling off What a joke There is just as much chance of a wheel falling off no matter what country the car was destined for...

 

Absolute arse IMO but this, at the end of the day, is why I waited so long for a UK car to come up before I bought mine

Get a copy of Japanese Performance magazine and look at all the adds in their for Jap insurnace co's. I've been quoted around £650 fully comp with 3yrs no claims by a company called A-Plan.
