Trying to get insurance at the mo. Rather expensive. it's all ok until i tell them what modifications i have. The exhaust, air filter and chip are bearable but when i say it has grooved discs they class it as a brake mod and dont want to know. Quotes from 725 - 2000.

Tesco quoted first at 545, sounded good but thought i would shop around. Noone could even come close so phoned back to check details (bit too cheap), only to find they put it down as a uk spec with no mods. Went up to 1400! Crazy price.

What is classed as an upgrade? Is it just things that make it more powerful or is it every little thing. Do i have to tell them it has a crack on the front valance or chips of paint that might make it go faster.

How did you get 545 from tesco. I'm ancient (40+) and they quoted about 645 for a bulk standard UK car (Two full recovery claims from w!"£$%s running into the back of me)

Don't upgrade the brakes. From my expereince it just means that the plonker in a hot hatch tailgating you will only just hit you harder when you have to hit the brakes
