i need a socket for my ecu chip, what exactly do i ask for, or what is it that i need

i would imagine once the socket is in thats it, how much are they, ive heard only about twenty pence

so can you use it twice?

is it the same thing as the previously mentioned EPROM?

 

 

Once it's in it's in M8 and you just slot your chip into it. You can change/remove the chip any time and just slot in another so you could have various maps on diferent chips if you wanted. :)

yeah the whole point of the socket is so you can swap chips whenever you like. as the socket is soldered onto the ECU i wouldnt recommend de-soldering it and re-soldering it elsewhere. surely theyre cheap enough if you need to buy another.
