Service?

Hi all,

I'm just about to buy a Z, and I mean just about (should pick it up this week) and I’m interested to know the service intervals? I've been told many different things by many different people, some say 3000 for an oil change others say 6000, one magazine I read actually said every 9000 which seems a bit high for my liking, could someone please tell me the truth????

Matt,

Since having my Z I have had it serviced every 4,000 miles or every 6 months which ever comes quicker.

Look after the Z and it looks after you (touch wood!)

And having looked through the service history on my Z the previous owner did it about the same but there are even times where he covered only 900 miles then had another service..!!

But I would go with 4,000 or 6 months, which ever comes first.

Cheers,

Matty.

Depends as well on the type of oil you are using, how many miles you travel, what sort of driving you do - loads of things. Personally mine has a service every 6000 miles and gets the cambelt changed every other service to be on the safe side. Most cambelts should be changed at 12000 miles anyway, but the Zeds seem to have a problem with them blowing around 50,000, from what I found when looking for one 2 years ago.

Others on here will service the car every 3000 miles.

There's also the 60K service to take into consideration.

But the main thing to remember is that maintaining the Zed will keep it running. Good, regular servicing is worth its weight in gold.

Cheers

Anita.
