i have to design and code a game of checkers (draughts), in java. i have to use ai to code a computer player which im having difficulty with. i have done some of the code that has the rules for the game and the user interface. i need someone who has made a game in the past or knows how to code game. the computer player has to be coded using the minmax algorithm with alpha beta cut offs. pm me for further details.

with the minmax method dont you create a tree of all possible legal moves to a depth of 'n' right down to all winning scenarios, score them, then filter back up the tree and make the AI choose the best path. never implemented it before, only done the theory and that was a bit of a headfk for me!

That sounds familiar... but it's years since I've even looked at anything like that. Not so much of a problem nowadays but I think minmax used to be a performance hog because it calculates all possible scenarios.

What have these got to do with a game of checkers?
