Oh No Engines Gone Tits Up

Morning All

Driving home last night on a desserted moor in Derbyshire, I was cruising at about 80 when all of a sudden load bang, fairy tree lights on the dash, everything cuts out and smoke starts coming from the engine bay. Bollocks I think, after 1/2 hr on the phone trying to explain where the f~~k this unmarked road was, the AA man finally gets there, takes one look and says me engines f~~ked, he thinks the cam shaft has broken, there are no visible signs of damage of oil anywhere. Had it towed to my garage and I hope they can have a look at it today.

So whats the chances its not really expensive and what options do I have? is it a new engine, rebuild or re-coned. Any ides of what I'm looking at in terms of money?

Never mind only a lump of expensive metal mad.gif

Thanks for any advise

Regards

JOHN(soon to be Z less)

Bad luck John, worst case senario replace engine with known good one cost £1500 engine £500 fitting but do not despair part rebuild may be more cost effective. Good luck

Good luck
