I removed the blanket from my bonnet on my old TT to help rid some of the heat quicker.

 

Was gonna do it on my new one too, but its a modified bonnet, got a bulge etc on it.

Can the heat damage the filler?

Would it be safe to remove?

 

Dont want to remove it all to find out when engine gets hot bonnet bulge cracks etc.

i had 2 bonnet vents on my old car

 

both cracked m8

 

the heat and vibrations will make them crack after time

 

keep it on m8, i would

 

also dont drop your bonnet when u shut it as that will make it crack :)

yeah had a mate with that problem too. He took the heat shield and after a while the lines started to appear where the filler was looked fooking awful :x: i'd just leave it on mate :)
