Sorry to hear it. They do a mistake in counting so you have to pay it in a lump sum.

I am actually on hold trying to work out how much the b**tards owe me.

Could be a good lump sum.

make sure your employer has given them the right details of your company car. My friends employer didnt even tell the inland revenue and he got hit with a bill.

Chin up bud I just got a VAT bill for £3,500 I am not registered for vat but the fookers have billed me as I should have registered for vat....

It would have been cheeper for me to have two months off work so I did not have to pay the vat & work my nutts off for nothing. UK tax go to work pay em 97% & you can live on the rest..... :xxx:

Kirbz sorry to hear that bud there c*ntolas arnt thay and neil being regesterd for vat is good you can claim back for loads you will end up keeping most of the vat you charge people me and you have the same job I think:D

fookers have just sent my girlfriend a letter saying they have no record of her paying any tax for 2004 to 2005, and she cant find her p60, and only has some of her pay slips, and to make things even better the place she worked for has shut down. so we're expecting a bill as well.

I live in fear of that happening every time I fill out my tax return... and like you, as far as I know I'm all paid up. Feel for you bud.

If you feel that your tax is wrongly calculated or have been hit with a bill which you dispute then you donot have to pay immediately but ask the Inland Revenue to refer your case to an Independent Commissioners. Basically a panel of individuals like a jury is gathered and you present your case to them face to face, and if they are convinced your are right then the bill is reviewed and in certain cases scrapped as accounting mistakes do happen. However please don't take this as if I ask for a hearing my tax bill will be wipped clean. This is a good service provided by the Inland Revenue and gives the individual a chance to bring their case forward for an independent hearing.
